LIVE DRAW EVENTS
Whether it’s onsite or online meetings, I’m a seasoned pro at creating both planned and spontaneous
illustrations and schematics in front of a live audience.
What is a live draw event?
A live draw event can be many different things: I can take center stage as a ‘human Powerpoint’ in support of a presenter to capture key ideas. I can work in the background while round table discussions occur to document ideas as they arise. Or I can function as an onsite portraiture artist to give your attendees a fun takeaway item to memorialize your event.
Can you do a live draw remotely?
Absolutely!
What preparation is needed?
For collaborating with a live presenter, I do recommend a quick dry run meeting (either online or onsite before the event) so I can familiarize with the presenter’s talking points, but if you need totally spontaneity, that is no problem.
What equipment is needed?
I can provide an iPad or physical sketchbook for free form onsite drawing - this is best suited to intimate portraiture. For large scale physical drawings (usually used in live presentations), typically clients provide a drawing surface, which I can advise on depending on the circumstances of the event. For projections or digital screens, I can work with event staff to connect via a computer/tablet set up.
How can I share the drawings?
Physical drawings can be documented via photos and re-created as a takeaway illustration after the event (or in the evening during multi-day events). Digital drawings are ready to go immediately upon completion!
Do you travel to events?
Yes! Clients are required to provide for transportation and accommodations during the event. I do recommend accommodations be as close to the event space as possible so I can be on call as needed. I typically arrive an hour minimum before events are slated to begin and ideally the day before for any dry runs/troubleshooting the event may require.
